Developing self-belief when we need a boost

Many people can develop a habit of thinking that they don’t have what it takes to achieve big goals, so they might not even try. They feel unsure about their ability to succeed and see it as too difficult for them. This mindset prevents them from living to their full potential, and instead they remain in the shadows of who they could be.

To remedy this lack of confidence, we can energise their minds by offering them opportunities to discover the enormous potential they possess. We all have huge capacity. This has nothing to do with our education or social position; it’s simply our engineering.

When we climb a mountain we are acknowledging that potential and taking a vital step towards realising it. There is no hiding from the wind, the exposure, the fatigue. People discover that they can keep going, despite the discomforts and forces against them.

Mountains do not compromise. They are a symbol of great challenge, making an attempt to reach their lofty summits a magnificent and important moment in our lives.

(Notes from a recent talk I gave – Yes, it was a little cheesy)
